Years ago, when we did consumer competitions, (You know, "I like .....Beans because.....10 words, apt and original) there was a huge debate as to whether, for instance, the word "he's" was one word or two.

We would spend ages trying to avoid the apostrophe, just in case the judges disqualified our entry.
