after looking at fiamma awnings & the price of then for a 4.5m one i enquired to a home awnings manufacturer if you could use one on a motorhome, the answer was yes but would like to ask if anyone has done this & if there is any reason why not to do it i.e weight difference etc the home awnings are much cheaper but work in the same way as a fiamma awning
thanks sam

i think you answered your own question.......

the 'house' type awning will be heavier and more robust.

house wall = bricks (usually)

Awning designed to just extend and hang off the house wall....no support legs and normally rawl bolted to the bricks.

motorhome wall = foam, fiberglass and light plywood.

Awning designed to extend AND be supported by legs...normally fixed with bolts and speader plates inside the van.

what would you prefer hanging off the side of your van ?
