The Moto G (2014) does have a good spec and has good reviews. The only reason we discounted it when SWMBO changed her phone recently is that it does not work with 4g. She decided on the Sony Xperia M2 instead.

Think you will find the new one is 4 g

There are two different version of the Moto G 2014. 4.5" with 4G and 5" without. There are also single and dual sim versions. Complicated, eh yes!

You are correct, a bit of a concern but my current Samsung Galaxy S is a good few years old and still on the original battery. I wonder if its the future so people buy a new phone when it needs a new battery.
thinking about it,a lot of iphones pop up on ebay that will not take a charge,or hold a charge.people tend to over charge phone battery's by leaving them on charge over night,i use a smart charger on my phones, once the phones battery is fully charged the charger stops charging, and just float charges.
bought one of these for charging when out and about, also shuts off when battery is fully charged.

From Ofcom web page
Cellular mobile services operate within the frequency ranges 872-960 MHz, 1710-1875 MHz and 1920 - 2170 MHz

2G GSM have 4 bands in the world (For Mobile phones)

900 MHz used by O2 and Vodafone

1800 MHz used by Orange, T-mobile (Now EE), O2 and Vodafone

850 MHz, 1900 MHz bands are used in USA, Canada and some South American Countries only. (Also CDMA (Code division multiple access) which is another frequency completely different to GSM)

3G UMTS has 5 Bands I know that I used for Mobile phones

900 MHz is currently been used by O2 and Vodafone

2100 MHz is used by all the UK carriers

850 MHz, 1700 MHz and 1900 MHz are again bands that are used in USA, Canada and some South American Countries only. (And again enhanced CDMA (CDMA 2000) another difference to UMTS)

I know it's 7 inch but what I want is a tablet that I can put my feel at home 3 sim in so that it thinks it's a phone and let's me use the tablet, no tethering issues then, if I could be sure it would all work Id have one in a flash , but if it doesn't work , it's just money down the drain.

I know you are not asking me but I would say not, you have got to have 2100 in there somewhere and I can't see it in that one, I am same as you iv looked at them till my heads spinning , but when you think mainstream things like this are £300 odd and don't have as many specs you have really got to look at them hard.

Terry,

I have checked the link again and it links to a lenovo A8 A808T which is the chinese only version and the same as the model in the original link. If you want a Lenovo to work here it must be the A8 806 which works WCDMA 850 2100 for 3g and FDD LTE for 4g

Quick update -the phone arrived on Monday so I have had plenty of time to assess it (y)(y) it runs as smooth as silk and is super fast -Battery life lasts 2 days but I have phone settings so it turns off from 11 pm to 7 am -Very happy with camera (y) Screen is very clear---gives crystal clear calls (y)Speaker is a little tinny but I can live with that (y) All in all I think it's a superb thing for the money :Dthen again I still think the Cubot is a very good phone and also the THL -Cubot camera is OK THL camera is a lot better than Cubot and the LENOVO is better than both put together(very very good) but then again @ £120 it should be :)Twice the price of the Cubot and THL but less than a quarter of the price of a top end/named phone (y):DForgot to say it's super fast on 4g
terry
edit BTW it cost £12 to send the Chinese phone back to China -just waiting for my refund now ;)
