Since I was 18.... 1996....
Morning All,

I have been offered as set of genuine Fiat Alloys for my van, but sans the correct wheel nuts.

I'm assuming I will need special studs, can anyone confirm ?? or even better have a picture ?

Thanks in advance,

Daniel.

The taper on alloys usually and generally differs from that on steel wheels
the correct stud for the wheels should be used, IF the same taper is on both sets you can use the studs you have

I haven't found a single example of any X250 with special bolts and I have quite a number of pictures. The previous X244 uses the same wheels

Think the standard nuts look awful, and let the look of the wheel down. So, with a cheap pair of nut covers off eBay, it transforms the look.

They may well be a different length, they certainly were on my 2008 Fiat, the studs used on the Alloy wheels were too long for the steel spare as I found out in Germany when I had a puncture.

Shaft length should be 30mm if original equipment.
There are non standard shiny bolts on the market at 35mm long

Morning,

Thanks for all the replies, all those lovely wheels seem to be from X250 onwards Ducatos. Mine is a late X244, and 24mm head wheel bolts.

More confused as any pics I can fiond of the wheels I have got show nice shiny wheel bolts, as have all vans I have ever seen with these wheels. ( coincidentally the pic is from a van the same as mine )

The person I am getting them from has contacted me to say wheel bolts are in the boxes ( they old Fiat Dealer stock ) so hopefully will be OK !

Daniel.

Are you on 15 or 16" wheels? the picture you posted is 15" but 24mm head bolts are for 16"

It seems there are a variety of head sizes on early years but 15" wheel bolts should be a 14mm thread and 16" a 16mm thread

I'm strongly thinking of these myself at 1450kg rating, come complete with bolts and they just confirmed they'll include steel valves free. I would consider the valves yourself too as they may not be included.

Ohh I like those.

I have acquired metal valves to put in

The guy who puts tyres on our vans at work is going to swap the tyres etc over ( as they are nearly new and put on by last owner just before I got it )

Sounds good. I just need to convince wifey that its worth £469 fitted to rejuvenate our van :p
I might wait until the next pair of tyres need replacing though to save messing about and then the rears can move to the front and new on the back.

Looks like wobble bolts designed to allow for variance of stud circle
They're going to look very nice and I'm blaming you when I tell Jacs

Just found that Wheelbase are £70 cheaper on the Wolfrace TP5 than Tyremen are!! That amounts to free fitting/swapping tyres

Not impressed with Wheelbase at the moment. Having enquired about steel valves they skated around it and said their valves are good for 80 psi. I've had to point out that 80 psi in my tyres is the cold pressure and can rise to well over 90 in use.
