iv just bought a 2000 watt 4000 watt peak inverter, what ampage can i truely expect to get from this, and what would be the current drain on my battery, running it flat out (2000 watts).im thinking almost 9 amps per hour,or have i missed something.
i know the formula amps x volts = watts.
so whould i be right in saying watts devided by volts =amps?

the point im trying to get to is if i can(which i can easly) replace the current drain on the battery at say 30amps per hour why would i need ehu?

i realy wanted a 5000watt 10000watt peak inverter but would need second morgage:Rofl1:

    2000 / 12 = 166 amps plus some, say 180.

    WOW

You better have some serious batteries, like off a fork lift.

just 1 110 amp battery at the moment
i have built(building) a unit that can replenish a battery or battery's at upto 150 amps per hour.
as far as what im running im a man of simple means, no microwave or heavy power consumables.
just nice to know it's there if needed

:Eeek:What is this unit / what /how is it going to put up to 150 amps per hr back into the battery's---I fear the battery's will boil dry very quick at that charge / discharge rate :Rofl1: may even explode :Rofl1:

i WONT go into to much detail.(as i might market it)
but i would like you guys to think outside the box.

    ok
what's the best way of charging a 12 volt battery or battery's?
or keeping a 12 volt battery fully charged while drawing heavy currents off it?

I CHRISGREEN SWEAR ON MY GRANDCHILDRENS LIVES THAT THIS THREAD IS NOT A WIND UP.(and i would die for my grandchildren)
    ok thats that sorted
i will hopefully have my unit sorted out by the western rally for all to see
but if it does what l what i think it can do(well) it will be in hiding till i sort out the patent on it?

    It's really very simple.

    1800 / 230 = 8A if you plugged it into the mains.

    1800 / 12 = 150A if plugged into 12V ( via inverter )

What is not simple is the battery chemistry. That 110Ah if you look at the small print is 20 hour rate so drawing 110 / 20 = 5.5A.

But because the chemicals cannot work that fast when you hit it with 150A you effectively have more like 50Ah and you only half discharge a normal battery so that 25Ah you have.

    25Ah / 150A = 0.166h or 10 mins.

Nothing worse than a cup of warm tea !

You need to be googling submarine batteries.

By the time you've got the batteries and all the copper to connect them you'll be overweight.

    PS....
AN unimpressive inverter spec, OK for the kettle, I'd worry about plugging a phone charger, TV or laptop into it. Might be fine, but I'm not sure.

i have only spoken to one other person about the full plans for what im building and his reaction was.
    f**k me it's so simple.
thats the point to simple that no other person has thought of it.
allmost the holy grail, light and cheap to run, cheap to build, cheap to repair.
it has been done before but not in the format that im doing it in.
good for boaters, caravaners, motorhomer's and garage or car owners.

why not impressed with the inverter spec???
and i wont be hitting it with 150 amps it only takes what it needs.
im building this on a shoestring and if it dont do what i want it to do then i am down a few £££££
but i will have got it out my head:thumb:

If you say it's been done before you can't patent it.

If you show it then, I'm not too sure about this, but then again you can't patent it.

If it's really good then a patent is only as good as the lawyers you can afford and I guess that defeats you.

Patents are a minefield that make loads of lawyers rich and the odd one or two lucky people.

You only real hope of riches is a Dragon's Den type deal.

Now that is one of life's great mysteries. You look round any industrial park cutting wood and you'll see dust extraction. It's as old as the hills, how did he get a patent on it ????????

i really need to know why you dont like the inverter spec?so i can order another one?:thumb:
i think we are straying from the topic.
    im not inventing something new,ok
im not inventing something that will give us all free power, wish i was.
im building something that can replace battery power faster(a lot faster) than a genarator or solar panals and would not need ehu.
thats about as much as im going to let on.:thumb:
