3 weeks ago out for a long w/e...just left the CL aaaand Front O/S FLAT. Only just left the exit at 5 mph.Obvious something was wrong. Super breakdown service from 'Safegaurd'.. Off with the old and on with new spare. Reason for flat= Faulty rubber valve stem.!!
Parked at home [a rare event !] and just noticed the M/H was left hand down a bit. Yep., Flat front N/S. Reason= Faulty rubber valve stem.
NEVER COME ACROSS SUCH AN EVENT ...BOTH TYRES SAME FAULT ON A 56 PLATE Transit twin wheeler.....and that super tyre sealant stuff [ same as the Post Office uses on their fleet] did not solve ??

Nat.tyre firm said it was a rare problem but Not unheard of !!?

Glad it did not happen on our recent 3000mile trip to eu land :thumb:

Since 2005
its not uncommon for the valves to fail like this.

motorhome tyres should have metal valve stems fitted as a norm.

cost is around £8 each but what price a blow-out on the motorway ?

Ford for a few years knew of this problem of the snap in hp tr600 valve fitted to oe mk 6 Transits as far back as 2005, they did as you can expect nothing, even though this has been reported by many motorhomers to them if you read on forums. If you have non bolt in hp valves fitted get them changed as they do fail regularly .They seem to be made in places like China and are cheap nasty and:censored:2:censored:2

Tyre valve stems

We had one fail earlier this year followed by another one a month later.
While removing the double rear wheels to repair this another blew off.
All stems have now been replaced.
