Folks, can you help ?

Looking for a quick getaway / campsite this Friday ( 4th) for a weekend away..

Here is the spec

1 ) 2 to 2.5 hr drive radius from Dorking
2) The campsite must allow us to 'check in' in the evening as we cant leave till her indoors gets back from work at 5-ish
3) Need a nice site, not a pub car park or the like.

Anyone know decent campsites within this spec ? (y):D

Links to websites below would be very handy !

Ta all

Motorhomed for almost 7 years - now going nowhere!
What about contacting @old-mo - he has a new site near Hardy's monument in Dorset. He may be willing to let you check in late.

I don't use many sites, but one I do use regularly when visiting no. 1 son at Uni is Meadowbank Holidays (http://www.meadowbank-holidays.co.uk/) in Christchurch which might fit the bill? It is a beautifully kept site, very clean showers and facilities and I was told that I could contact the duty warden to check in up until about 10 p.m if necessary.

Nice drive through the new forest and/or the South Downs and a few good places to visit within striking distance although Christchurch harbour is lovely.

Hastings touring park. They have a small bar restaurant. You can walk into Hastings in about 20 mins and the take acsi.

If you phone them you can book in at the bar

Studland Bay is not far from the site and there are plenty of sandy balls there, perhaps this is where it got it's name from...:)

Just had a look at this site and it looks lovely but unfortunately no good for OP now as site closes end October.

That's annoying! Sorry for that; I was only there last Thursday and it was business as usual, nothing to intimate that it was about to close for the winter - assumed it was open all year round (that's my Christmas plan scuppered...)
