1st Trip To Europe (1 Viewer)

as a newbie this year I am going to plan a trip to France next year. I plan to retrace a similar trip as a young un on my bike.
Thinking of keeping off the beaten track and enjoy the countryside for a month, any suggestions would be appreciated on what areas to see and avoid, I have also a need to visit the Italian lakes

What channel crossing are you planning on using, in general terms, Dover, Gosport or Plymouth? And how long will be the trip?

Probably the Chunnel, and probably a month, but don't just want to race round. Would rather take our time and take in the experience. If it all works out I would rather go twice a year and see Europe in stages. Really envy people who are lucky enough to take 6 months off the hamster wheel
