Hi everyone
thinking of buying a Hymer b544 from 1990. Can anyone offer advice regarding my initial viewing and what the MAM might be as I have a 3500 limit on my licence.
Thanks in advance
Jamie

Last year I bought a 2003 B544 from a dealer and before the deal was struck I asked for a current weighbridge ticket with individual axle and miro weight.
The one in question came in at 2750kg with 1/4 fuel , no water and one driver so calculating the extras there was adequate payload to keep within the 3500kg gvw.

We had a 1997 B544 a few years ago and max weight was 3400Kg, so would be suitable for you. However if you do decide to buy make sure you get it on a weighbridge, preferably before parting with any money! If it has any extras on it like solar panels, satellite dish then that will come from your payload.

Thanks to everyone for your advice. Going to try and remain unaffected by the prospect of fun Times ahead and keep focused on the vehicles condition, have already performed an exhaustive licence plate check and so far so good. Will get back at weekend with outcome!

Okay......so I spent a couple of hours looking everything over and under, met the present owner who showed me around after that and went on a long test drive. Long story short i'm smitten!
It is a lovely example very clean underneath and inside with 60,000 on the clock, drove home on Saturday, baptism of fire as LTD dark and then rain
Still very pleased, there's always a but and I have one. Does anyone know someone who can fit a couple of lap belts to the rear seats!?
Thanks and happy trails.

Hi
and thanks for the info. Had the cushions off and had a really good look and yes! Under the forward facing seats mounted into the metal framework are 4 threaded holes complete with bolts all ready for some lap belts. This framework is bolted to the floor so offers very secure base. Have ordered seatbelts and hope to fit Tuesday, will post pic once done if anyone is interested.
Bye ya'll.
