I'm a newbie
I have just been to see a 1990 Hymer 544 - thought it would give the kids/grandchildren the opportunity to get away more.
Its in good condition and is 6 berth but only has seat belts on the driver and front passenger seat.

Is it possible to carry other people in unbelted seat? I have seen the original Hymer manual (in German) and it clearly shows the 6 passenger seats.

Any info appreciated,
Thanks,
Lloyd.

As far as the law goes, yes, because of its age there is no requirement for seatbelts. As long as you are happy with that arrangement?

IMO I would be looking for seat belts as I don't think I would want unbelted passengers in the back there are all sorts of implications if you had an emergency stop some don't bear thinking about.

Thanks everyone.
I assume its not easy to add extra belts due to mounting points, etc?

Once upom a time it could be done not now. Look elsewhere..

Ask yourself this: years back, would you be happy to let your children travel in a van unsecured... I think not!

Thanks,
I agree but the question needed to be asked,
Lloyd.
