Hi folks
Got a problem and need some ideas please.
The twelve volt system in our van has decided to stop working.
It's a swift royale 1998 vintage and has a switch to use either the leisure battery or the vehicle battery, currently neither gives power to the system though the vehicle is fully charged and the leisure brand new this afternoon, we're getting some power ie the gauge shows into the green but as soon as you turn on a light
( led strip ) the gauge drops to the red and the light goes very dim.
I've checked every fuse I can find and drawn a blank and am clean out of ideas,
Enyone got a clue ???

Cheers. Nige

Sounds like you have a high resistance in the circuit, probably a (very) bad connection somewhere. Does it do it on both leisure and vehicle batteries? and also with all the lights, not just a single one etc.

Trying all combinations may help to show where the problem lies.

Because the battery meter drops the problem is probably between the battery and the control box, but if it does the same on both batteries then possibly within the control box itself.

Thanks for that, five hours later I finally found a cable joining block corroded to hell and back. Funnily enough it's in the locker where I store my hoses, actually it's underneath my hoses  a complete own goal
Anyway repair made and all's well once more :thumb:
