We have a 230v Logitech speaker dock at home and this is perfect for sitting an Iphone on when you want some music, radio etc. However I cant seem to find a device that would run off 12v as they seem to all be either 230v mains or battery powered.

Anyone know or better still can recommend a 12v speaker dock ?

Oh speak up O great master Jim tell us what it is you had playing music on?

Perhaps use one of those little cup holder inverters that have a 3 pin uk socket and usb charging port. Haven't used one as yet but seen them in Halfords or camping supply shops.

We have a JBL Radial Dock which we use with an i-pod. It runs off a 12volt supply in the van. I am not sure if it will accept an i-phone, might be worth a Google to find out.

Have you thought about changing your car radio for one with full iPod compatibility; not one with just an Aux input but full compatibility? No inverters or messing about with wires trailing about.

Bought a Phillips one last year for ~£150; DAB, remote control and a USB socket for your iPod cable. Remote also changes tracks on iPod.

    Cheers.

Would like portability so can take the device outside, good suggestion though.

For portability and outside use, I can recommend the Bose Portable Sound Dock. Not cheap but a real quality bit of kit.

I've got one of these - never realised that it'd work on 12v  Perhaps you can give me a demo when we next meet up.
