the 3 12v tv's i have had and the 12v sat receivers have all been used with no stabilizer whether on just battery or 12v and ehu with the charger running, the tv i have now can run on anything from 12v to 25v or 240v

so the general consenis is

plug into 12volt cigg socket is ok when now mains is availible, but use the 240 transformer when it is
