Not had Delcy long and today out for a run on a dry Sunday afternoon, we have never in our short ownership had to be 12 volt only and to my surprise when we stopped I pressed the switch down to habitation battery turned the water pump on and nothing tried the lights still nothing, checked all the fuses all Ok.

So I phoned the dealer to check what to do and he said have you got the engine running so I said yes switch the engine off which I did and “Hey presto” we have lights magic Brad my dealer say some MH do it and so don’t.

Questions is WHY and can I change it.

Should be possible, there will be a relay relay that switches the habitation electrics off when the ignition is on, it may be inside the charger unit or it could be a separate relay. You just need to disconnect the live feed to the relay coil.

A ridiculous caravan council ruling for converters who are menbers of the caravan council to enable them to use the accreditation scheme.

As said there will be a 30amp relay somewhere which needs bypassing....but it could be anywhere.

And do not bother even looking if you have a Sargent system.. It can be done but you will need to understand electronics and be prepared for some serious mod work !
