Looking at a second hand van (Weinsberg Komet) and the 12 volt supply to the fridge doesnt work. The breaker on management pannel is stuck solid in the out position. No movement at all, may have been fused (sic) stuck?

Can any one suggest a considered figure for the worst case scenario i.e. Of having to replace the breaker and possibly running a new 12 volt supply to the fridge then even replacing the fridge?

Thanks

Not being an expert I could possibly be wrong here.

If the engine is not running the 12 volt supply to the fridge doesn't work.
As I understand it, this is to stop the fridge draining the battery.
With the engine off the fridge should only work on gas or 240 volts.

You didn't say if the engine was running or not, so I am guessing.

Hope that is some help.

Can't remember ;)
Lots of vans are wired differently-- usually a relay is used so that the fridge only works on 12v while the engine is running just like Knockinonabit says :Smile:Make sure this is working it will be located not far from alternator/engine battery, about £7/15 for a new one-It should not take long for a mobile caravan doc to find out what is wrong/identify wires etc, prob 1 hrs rate about 50 quidish :thumb:Worst case scenario a new fridge around 650 quidish :Eeek:

You've got to go for worst case if haggling. Has that breaker failed because the fridge is faulty ? Breaker £10, but new fridge and nearer £1K.

3 way fridge

Just had a quick look on ebay and seem to be several good buys depending on where you live as most are collection only
