Couldn't give you a 'love it' as well as a 'thank you' - but please accept both!
At the moment there's a HUGE fish in the nest and mum (?) is feeding the chicks SO delicately with such tiny bits. Seems incongruous given the chunky beak and thick legs! Wonderful to watch. Thanks again Lorraine!

I think there are two pair roosting at Mildenhall or Lakenheath, we often see them flying over home ..............

Bloody nature.

They won't be doing so well in Rutland either if daddy continues to bring koi carp to the nest. Obviously an easier catch than all the fish in the acres of surrounding water.

I can only see 1 chick in the nest now:crying1:

Panic over the other one must have been hiding mum and dad and two chicks there now

Definitely 2 chicks! but not close togehter like they were before - the bogger one in full view. the smaller & weaker one is half buried under grass & hidden behind a stick
And both parents at the moment

They have had lots to eat. Dad brings in the fish, mum feeds the chicks and herself and then dad collects the fish and takes it away to eat. He then returns what's left to the nest for the chicks to be fed again. He has brought in at least four large fish today. I worry about the larger of the chicks going over the edge. Mum has pulled him back twice today and I think that has triggered further stick collection. Hopefully sticks will be placed at the far edge of the nest.

My name is Lorraine and I am an Osprey addict. . .:)

Hi Lorraine
I know they have to keep raising the edges of the nest as the chicks grow, but I haven't been watching them all day  so unfamiliar with their goings-on & didn't think they were big enough to need it yet; just too adventurous for their own good sometimes! When I was looking in yesterday I was a bit concerned about Little Chick as mum didn't seen to notice she was only feeding Big Chick. I've seen this with other species, Runt has starved to death while Monster has just got bigger & bigger.

Yep! Today I SHOULD have been packing the van for Jaw's Thetford Bash. What I was actually doing was shouting ' feed the little dude, NOW!' . . .at a bird. . .on a screen . . .

I think I may be leaving for Thetford a little later than planned. :)

Saw these two flying over the reservoir last year. Fabulous. I shall watch a bit tomorrow. Thank you for sharing. Love it. :bear:
