Route to the Mosel (1 Viewer)

We are planning a trip to the Mosel starting at Cochem and are looking for a straightforward (and not too busy) route there from Calais. We are not planning on stopping off anywhere but generally travel 3 or four hours a day. We shall take the tunnel mid afternoon and are looking for a recommendation for the first stop.

We are doing the Mosel north to south as we plan on going to the Black forest afterwards. Again recommendations for places along the way would be gratefully accepted.

We left calais drove to Arras then across the Ardennes but then took a different direction than you requested but worth considering? Arrived in cochem today as we travelled north up along the Moselle from Luxembourg with a view to travel across to Koblenz and then follow the Rhine all the way south. This route was suggested by my brother who lives in Germany. If you follow this route fill up with fuel in Luxembourg (1.02 euros) and worth noting that you will be spoilt for choice for overnight stays as there are dozens dotted all along the edge of the Moselle.

Once on the Mosel there are loads of sites and stops for motorhomes
