When composing a message, if I selected the wrong emoji by mistake (fumbly finger syndrome) I used to be able to delete it by simply pressing the back button.

Recently this doesn't work, the back button just skips the cursor in front of the emoji. Deleting text is fine.

This seems very odd. Can anyone explain and hopefully offer a solution?

Thanks.

Try posting then editing after, I find when strange things happen that sorts it out.

Like your thinking outside the box @DavidG58

Edit after posting makes no difference.

I can highlight and Cut which is good enough for the few occasions. I'm bemused by why it's started behaving differently.

I mainly use my android phone and tend to use the back button for Delete. Don't know if there's another/better way.

edit - restart phone in your case o_O

double edit - I have no idea how anybody types anything on a phone, I am bad enough with a full sized keyboard
