Just has a second e-mail from Southdown regarding the Concorde Himmelfahrt event.

We looked it up on the internet and looks pretty good so we really fancy it.

I was wondering if anybody had done one in previous years or planning on going

this year.:D

We've went two years ago. Met many other owners who we are still in contact with. Would definitely recommend it. We have other commitments this year though.

Hello, we too went a couple of years ago and had a great time. Concorde and Southdowns were good hosts. The factory tour was interesting especially seeing the vehicle chassis before it gets its Concorde topside.
Not going this year as already got a German trip planned

We went last year for the anniversary bash. Excellent all round. Southdowns were great and everything the factory did was well organised, each morning there were three bread rolls and a 4 page news sheet about the events left on your step! Well worth the visit.

Hi John,
We went a couple of years ago as well. We had a great time and made some new friends. There were various trips organised, beer tasting in Bamberg, carriage ride through the vineyards with wine tasting of course and a cycle ride. We are going again this year and plan to stop at Lake Bodensee for a few days on the way down.
Will see you there.

Hi Kaye.

I thought Lake Bodensee was in the deep south near the Austrian\Swiss

borders and the Concorde venue is northern Germany or have I got it

totally wrong:D

John P(y)

Ps......Look forward to seeing you there.

Hi John,
Yes you are right about the lake but the factory is in Bavaria near Bamberg. It's about 300 kilometres from the lake.
See you there

Hi John,
That sounds good. I quite fancy Landau but nothing definite yet. We will probably base ourselves for about a week on an ACSI site Ferry booked for 13th May from Harwich.
The factory is at Aschbach (not Ansbach) near Schlusselfeld.

Near the Morelo factory if anybody fancies a nice day out(y) but make sure you wear your Concorde hat's and T shirt's.

You could also fit a tour round Phoenix Reisemobile - all three (Concorde, Phoenix & Morelo) are all located in the Aschbach/Schlüsselfeld locality. (y)

That's not fair Martin @, @KayeB , knows where to buy motorhomes..

Brilliant motorhoming here in new Zealand, fantastic scenery and brilliant 'freedom camping' but weather is a bit volatile.

the website seems very complex for my first visit but I hope to find it easy to use as a new member.
hopefully, I will learn from this who obviously have a lot of experience and can help advise on sites
that I can easily get my 10m Liner into, then plug into services. UK, France and Spain destinations.
thank you. Maurice.

Hi Maurice

I am sure you will soon find your way around the site.
A 10 metre liner now that is a big commitment and I imagine a bit of planning would be in order, there will be lots of help on here though, I can think of a few places you will have no problem straight away.

Hi Maurice,Good advice already given and with the big rigs planning is everything:)
A lot depends on the type of sites you wish to use.
Our own preferences are....Hard standing, electric hook up,water hook up if possible but not essential and grey and black waste drain, again not essential.
We are 9.4 metres long and just over 8 tons and unless we've had a long hot summer would not consider a grass pitch.
Like Martin says....We could give you a list of sites you will have no trouble getting on.At the end of the day its only a phone call to the site to see if they'll take you.
Enjoy Motorhome Fun.....the wealth of experience on here is phenomenal
