hi all

I'm currently on a site in Norfolk and watching tv through the Oyster Caro sat dish.
I've noticed over the past two evenings that we loose sound through the tv intermittently (lost sound twice in last 4 hours today and once last night)
When this has happened, I've checked the sound on the tv and it's not been muted.
We've two tv's and sound is lost on both tv's, which points towards the sat receiver.
If I press the radio button on the oyster sat remote, it switches to radio channels and sound is normal. When I then press the TV button on the remote, it switches back to television channel and the sound is restored to as per before. As if it resets it.
Has anyone come across this before and anyone have any ideas what's causing it?

I'm going to do a reset of the dish next to try and clear it but was hoping someone may have xperienced similar.
Thanks
Gavlad

No receiver @Jaws it goes from dish to the Caro unit in the wardrobe and then into the back of the tv so all channels are directly picked up from the satellite.

Been thinking about this and the more I think about it the more I think the receiver is messing about..
The signal / carrier from the satellite is digital.. and if you are getting the vision still then it has to be the decoder

The only other thing it MIGHT be is a border line signal but if the video is solid then that is a non starter.
The video and sound are all wrapped up together and split by the decoder in the receiver.

I'm going to the storage place tomorrow and will have a mess with it.
It might be the location in Norfolk that we were staying at?
Will see if it plays up tomorrow.

Good morning Gavlad,

I understand that this thread is old and that you have probably sorted the problem by now however if you have not then I have a couple of ideas about what the problem could be so please PM me if you still require assistance.

Hi Anthony

Thanks for your message.
The last time I visited my motorhome (its in storage) and tested the TV, the sound seemed ok.
However, when it was playing up and we was in Cromer, Norfolk, the problem was intermittent, so it maybe a case of waiting on until we next go away and putting the TV on and leaving it on for a while to see if there's still an issue.
I will send you a pm though and then at least you'll know where I'm at with it.
Thanks for your help!
