I agree that there is nearly always a solution -often at a price.
We're quite new to motorhoming and having to adapt to having less space than we had in a caravan.
My wife, who uses the scooter, only retired last week, so now the opportunity to get out more, and without EHU, has
prompted us to look for a solution to what is only a small problem really.
Onwards and upwards as they say.

that circuit will take more than a little work to get right and produce a lot of heat
I knew it was unlikely to be any good for the OP but put it up just to show there are alternatives. Done correctly it would make for an efficient system with fast charging. Heat shouldn't be a problem as it's a switched-mode unit.

We keep it fairly simple
when we have more than 6 Amps we charge off the 240v
if we do not we use our Solar panels to charge a second set of batteries ( one set on scooter one set on charge)
Works well for us just make sure the harness is wired up correctly for charging
