Hi,
Would anybody out there have a copy of the Owners manual for a 1996 Merc 410D, 2.9cc. Just bought one last week and am trying to figure out a few things. My main queries are....

The light switch. How does it work? you can just turn it or pull it outwards in two stages.

There is water dripping from the pipes to the rear heater on the drivers side

There is diesel dripping from the front of the tank. There are no holes that I can see, where does the fuel come out for the engine?

Guess you can see why I need the manual now.:roflmto:

Any help would be appreciated?

Dave.

Welcome to the fun....

I bought a workshop manual for my Merc chassis Hymer at a show...

My headlight switch works as follows... you twist it to turn lights on and you pull it out to switch on rear foglight... the later is only meant to work on dipped beam but mine works on either (wear maybe after 25 years of work)

Since 2005
fuel pick-up pipe is usually on top, or very near the top, of the tank and may have corroded and become porous, as could the tank itself.

you may need to remove the tank to gain access

Thanks to you all for your suggestions.

Just downloaded the Russek Manual for free off http://www.scribd.com/doc/51214913/Mercedes-207-208-210-307-308-310-408-410D-service-manual-EN

Loads of good stuff up there on Scribd.com.

I was afraid someone (pappjohn) would say that I'd have to remove the tank !! But I guess that's all part of the fun.

Discovered a new problem today whilst driving in the rain. The wiper linkage seems to be kicking on the return stroke. Anyone ever had that problem and taken the linkage out, it seems to be well buried inside the dash.:Eeek:
