Great 2 up,it is a bit tall though.The wee honda looks interesting but small wheels.

We're with Trev on this, ours is fine 2 up. I can't touch floor. 5' but then i don't ride it.

Hi if you are in the caravan club look at the deal suzuki not to be missed if a bike for you my dealer could not believe it and when checked all the salesmen were also surprised at the deal.
This may cost me a new bike

Bit the bullet yesterday and bought a 2014 Honda SH300i 6000 miles on the clock and traded in the old Kawasaki Versys.
Pick it up next week just hope it fits as off to Spain a couple of days after.
Save at least 55kgs compared to the Versys and still have enough power to tour the mountains and local areas 2 up though.

Cheers Brian. I did see that but we are going for a scooter (almost definitely) for the storage.

Although having said that we also want to see the Susuki Van Van 200 when it comes out. We have up'd our budget a bit so it has opened up more possibilities.

I run a Honda PES125, had it 7 years it's simply brill. Has smaller 13" wheels than SH but tyres much wider and standard output is 2hp more at 13 v 11 on SH. Weight the same as SH but like many Honda models now deleted leaving the SH as one of only a limited range now offered.

The very reason I went for the Sh300 it has 27hp so a much better performance.

Ridden all the 125s available and they're all pretty much identical performance wise. To be honest if I was going for small engine light weight I'd get the Suzuki 110 which is super light cheap to buy and better performance than most of the 125s available.
We like to tour a bit and the Sh300 gives that option plus bigger wheels for stability and handling.
Depends what you intend to do with a bike. If just popping to shops or into local town smaller bikes are ideal, for a bit of touring in the mountains a bit more power is needed.
Just hope I dont regret parting with the Kawasaki.

Here I am ex biker more than happy with my PES125. Now reading your posts made me do a bit of research on the SH300, suddenly I'm not so happy with my PES125. My 10 year old 4000 miles 125 may be for sale soon.

Trouble is finding a decent SH300 for sale outside of London unless you buy new.
Tried every dealer from B'ham to Devon not one decent one for sale.
Rode a SH300 last year little rockets and brilliant handling. Get it in a couple of days make sure it fits in the van garage then off to Spain for a month.
Just wish I could get my S100XR in

Here she is a little beauty and only 6000 miles Fitted our big Givi topbox with backrest got an adjustable Givi screen as well perfect.

We've just been out for a spin, cruises 2 up 65 / 70 mph quite easily and will get up to just over 80 mph 2 up. Been many many years since I rode a scooter but surprised how good it is even got ABS linked brakes.

Fits in the van and 55 kgs lighter than the Versys, bit of a fiddle to get in as it has no gears to hold it in place but it'll get easier within practice.

Forest ...what do you wear when riding that. We have a pcx125 and feel a bit vunerable in just jeans and a light jacket. Also I fancy a Versy myself for a bit of touring..would that be an ok move from a 125 scooter? Cheers

Over here Bull'it jeans and my Revit jacket or a heavy Halvarson snowboarding fleece.

Abroad same but a airflow biking jacket if going distance, but if just going to beach or local shops shorts n tshirt I'm afraid. Tend to copy the locals.

Versys 650 is a superb bike but very heavy 225kgs. Ok for touring even 2 up and you can get hard panniers for it but you'll need a comfort seat as the standard is a torture device.
Bike handles really well good turn of speed up to about 130mph and abs brakes. Being a twin you do use the gears to keep it spinning but its a very capable bike. Fuel range is poor though 150 miles and abs actuators play up and cost approx £1000.00 to replace. Mine failed on the rear in the end I bypassed it and only had abs on the front.
Just sold mine 57 plate 11000 miles new mot new tyres £1900.00

It's a Honda. Good choice!

Some years ago we carried a Peugeot Speedflight scooter on our m/h. It completely broke down twice. Once within warranty and once three weeks outside when Peugeot would not help at all.

In desperation I asked my local motorcycle mechanic what I should. He said, "Sell it and buy a Honda"! We did.

For 11 years it has been used with virtually no problems.

Congratulations good choice that was gonna be our choice if the SH300I didn't fit in.
Have to say we're chuffed to bits with ours been using it all over France and Spain this trip and its just so much easier than the motorbike. Seemed a bit odd at first but soon adapted. it flew up the Picks de Europa 2 up and we even passed 2 motorbikes although they were a GS & Africa Twin so probably doesn't count. Sorry @edgy

Well done you,was a long road but think you made the right choice in the end.Dont worry about the stickers,people will think you are a Honda works rider haha.Will make it easier to spot in the bike park.

Excellent choice, I must say the stop / start gets a bit of getting used to. I v e got a Watling detachable rack that fits easily on the tow bar . Job done .

All you need now is a top-box - quite easy to fit but you need to drill 4 oversize holes in the rear fairing around the rear pillion seat area.

We got a universal top box delivered a couple of days ago. We didn't need to drill the fairing as there was a section that popped off with predrilled holes underneath and the brackets fitted perfectly. We can now stash both helmets in there when we store the bike or go for a walk about.

Tried the 125's and hated the buzzy lack of power and feeling that they're a town scoot and very busy on the open road. Settled for a Puegeot Satelis 250.....great drive twist and go auto, great one or two up even on motorways, lots of storage below large comfortable seat and with a removable top box. weight 160kg......now going toad with an Aygo, mines for sale 2009, 14k miles, full history, £1599......
