Friends of ours have in in a Hymer and it's nice, we would have it next time.

We found that when we were in high altitude places ( hot in the day, freezing at night ) The Alde system worked better on gas than electric. Do you find this the case ?
Quite often the site amps could not cope with the power consumption especially with the kettle as well.
We dont really need electricity at all. Solar does its job well.

Hi Phil
For sure it heats up quicker on gas and as you say hook up is often that low that you would not dare put the heating onto full anyway, i think I am right in saying that our vans only have the 500 watt or 2kw settings on the selector for the heating as the last click which should be 3kw is still 2kw, I sometimes put the electric on 500watts and the gas on as well and then just click the gas off when it warms up, also depends if electric is metered as that can get expensive.

Our current coachbuilt has a 6kw diesel heater (no electric option) and very good it is too. Convenient and frugal, if a tad noisy, especially on start up.

The layout we're after is fixed twin singles in a 5.99 metre van. I know of three that will be available in 2016 - Globecar Globestar 600L, Knaus Boxstar 600 Living, and Rapido Dreamer D58. We've looked at the Globestar 600L - liked it, but ultimately have had to dismiss it. The Knaus is still in the running - just, but the Rapido Dreamer is the favourite. It also happens to be available locally to us.

We used to have a similar washroom to the Rapido in our Autocruise PVC with the upshot that we never used the shower as it was just too small. The one in the Globecar Globestar 600L is similar to the one we have in our current PVC (Globecar Familyscout L) which is fantastic:

Interestingly, the Globestar 600L bathroom is similar but slightly different to yours. And it was the design in your van and the 6.4-metre Campscout that was one of the attractions of the Globecar. But when we tried the one in the Globestar 600L, it was difficult to use the fold down wash basin properly - as I said, although a very similar principle with the extension across the gangway, the execution and design is rather different to your van, I believe. And we really need to keep the van to 6 metres to comfortably fit our parking area at home.

As it happens, in more than five years of ownership, we've never actually used the large separate shower in our current van for showering (obviously very unclean folk :) )! It makes an excellent dressing room, however, as it's adjacent to the wardrobe.

We mostly use campsites, with very occasional nights on aires or wilding when en route on the continent. But as naturists, when staying at naturist places, we can just take a solar shower outside in the sunshine; or alternatively use the camp showers. Doubtless sounds strange to some, but it works for us. ;)

But we do want a wash basin and a loo we can use in the van.

Don't buy a PVC, buy a Hybrid.

Our Motorhome/Campervan crossover is for sale.

You will not need underfloor heating!

Looks a great van Trev. Unfortunately, significantly beyond our budget I'm afraid. :(

It will make a great buy for somebody - hope it finds a new home soon.

Cheers, Mike

Looks to be a sensible price but you might want to put the mileage on the ad and also turn a couple of the photos round! A couple of links to sites showing more pictures & info would also be a good idea, as well as a layout plan.

Have to agree and I'm not having a dig but at that price you should have employed a professional photographer to take some internal shots if you couldn't take them yourself. What do the kitchen and loo look like, view of dashboard etc.

Nice vehicle but very badly presented I'm afraid. Some awful photographs and why is ski holiday in the title? I thought that was the model name until I read the bit in size 99 font which sort of explained it, sort of...

If no ones bid on it yet pull the advert and try again! :)
