Seem very popular here in France.. 4 or 500cc jobs with two wheels up front which means they can be rode/driven on a car licence. I've had a full bike licence for 40 years anyway but thought how stable and easy to use one of these would be for the less confident wannabe bike user ??
They are blooming expensive mind !

Had a 500 Gilera for a year following shoulder surgery.Enjoyed it,never ridden anything that held the road so well, gives far more confidence in the wet.
Did take some getting used to but shoulder recovered enough after a year to go back to a lightweight 750 Guzzi with more normal two wheels. Was fun though, have a test ride but remember secondhand bike licence only ones can be bought a little cheaper as more restricted customer base, good luck.

Still learning since 2010
Not all of them can be ridden on car licences.
It all depends how far apart the two wheels are.
I can't remember the exact measurement but I remember reading about it a while ago in Motor Cycle News.
I'm sure a clever person on here will know the answer.

What do they normally weigh?

My 300 cc weighs 235 kg dry so certainly no more than 250kg, which is heavy compared to most Motor-cycles.

Think from memory the Gilera was about 250 kgs.
I am not sure but think the designation LT( larger track) maybe.
Is the one suitable for car license holders only,Any reputable dealer would know.

If I go down the Trike route I would get an Ifor quad trailer with s full width ramp.
I've held a full bike licence for over 30 years so no concerns on the licence .

Hell these things are rare !

This is our 500cc which weighs 260kgs. Rides pretty much like a normal bike if somewhat a little less precise with the steering. Will be taking this instead of the GoldWing when we go abroad. In spite of the problems that some others have experienced I have gone for a Hydratrail Easilift with a beefed up towbar. I am due to pick the trailer up next week.

Belting bit of kit that is and in the best colour by far !

Sensible says get a wee car... But the kid in me says get a 500 trike and a trailer which will allow us to take it to Spain.... Bugger this is getting harder ! (y)(y)
