spent a couple weeks in the highlands, all costal following roughly the nc500 trail..
a few photos of the trip.
started off in Arisaig silver sands
called at glenfinnan to see viaduct and monument
eilean donan castle
stayed at Plockton before doing Applecross via the cattle pass road, which wasn't too busy and fairly easy.. some of the Lakeland passes are worse to do imho. but a lovely drive.. the weather was kind..
then the road from applecross to shieldaig which is a beautiful drive
stayed at gairloch before moving on to durness, and doing cape wrath and smoo cave..also stopped to look at the kylesku bridge
to get to cape wrath you get a wee boat ride and then its a one hour ( 11 mile trip )to the lighthouse
and the entrance to smoo cave..
then on to Dunnet head john o grotes and duncansby head...
