Hymer Engine Required...help !!!! (1 Viewer)

Hi All
We have a Hymer Motor Home based on a Citroen C25D, that has given up the ghost in Spain !! totally seized and beyond repair.

Reg No. K46 SCK – 2-Axle-Rigid Body Motor Caravan
Date of Registration:- 14/08/1992, 3500KG Gross, Engine Capacity 2500CC

Chassis No. VF7290G92UD235353, on the V5 is says UB235353 and when it got a Alternator from Citroen is says VF7UB0000UB235353
Hymer Serial 421150

Can any one recommend somewhere/ someone who can supply a replacement engine please, any advice appreciated

Whereabouts in Spain are you ?
Should be able to track one down in most scrapyards.

Look at fiat and boxer ngin is the same a lot of citrons used the fiat engines in a lot of there vehicles
you nead to get the engine code of the vin plate or preferably the engine and cross refrains them
I would think that a fiat engine and gear box should drop right in some one will be along to put me right

My Hymer is only slightly more recent and has the 2.5td engine which is the SOFIM 8140.27 which was used by Fiat, Citroen, Iveco and others. I suspect your engine is the same but might have a Citroen badge whereas mine has Fiat badge.
Where are you in Spain?

Hi folks, apologies for delay (work!) Thanks for all your inputs The van is in Villajoyosa, near Benidorm and I will try and get the engine number off the mechanic and post it up...I live near Gandia, Spain but I am in the UK for work for a few weeks so it would be great to find one and maybe see/ hear it running before sending it over...Thanks Sillybug, I have sent a request to Classic Hymers via FB, I'll let you know how I fair....Thanks

It might be worth sending an email to 'The Garage' in Javea. It is owned by Mark and he has contacts with all the local breakers. He employs Spanish mechanics so no difficulty for him with communications. His email is: info@thegaragejavea.es

The prces they ask here n scrapyards it would Definitely be worth looking in the UK because even with having to ship it ,it should still work out cheaper.

No you are right. According to my manual the 2.5d was the same for all 3 .Peugeot,Citroen & Fiat /talbot.

Thanks all, Flamenca we often get through to Javea so I'll maybe pop in and have a chat...may be worth my while getting a grua and getting the bus there and nearer home, cheers
