Yet another meet plagued by generators!!!!
Ahhh!! but how many reply's had anything to do with the OP????
So after all that is was a simple misunderstanding and a bit of new member learning experience.
What surprised me most about this weekend is that I have just bought one of those 12v/240V cool boxes. They are supposed to suck power out of the batteries at a hell of a rate but I was fed up of warm beer. Anyway, I was expecting to have to start my genny on Sunday at the latest to charge the batteries up after the beers had gone. I thought I would need to do this so I could start the engine of Monday as they are currently in parallel with the hab batteries. I know this is a bit silly but needs must at the moment. Anyway. Checked the voltage Sunday night after the sun had gone down for a couple of hours and batteries were showing 12.9V. Was I happy
3 x 80Watt solar panels kept all my stuff working from thursday at 11am till today at 11am and batteries almost fully charged when I arrived back at Coningsby.
I charged up my tablet/phone/laptop each night using 12v converters. New toothbrush still going strong after no hookup for 10 days. I am still trying to decide if it is worth installing my new inverter as I have managed fulltiming for 6 years without one.... Oh and I am operating on only half my battery bank as one battery gave up the ghost after 8 years.

Would that make them bi-polar ?Well at least two.
How many generators suffer from reverse polarity ?
Why oh why is it necessary to fire up your generator at 8am thus spoiling a good start to the day for the majority of others
And then, on till late at night spoiling the evenings as well!!
