He satellite hasnt been switched off but the UK footprint has been changed.

Even in the very far reachs of Scotland it could be a problem with a small dish.

You may get UK tv well into France but not the mainstream uk channels BBC, ITV etc.

If you have a laptop or tablet/phone you can download the App" FilmOn Live TV"
which is free you just need to register. As long as you've got access to WiFi you can watch all the english channels and more.

FreeSat now struggles in S France on our 55cm dish, never mind Spain. Other satellite services may have different footprints.

There is nothing but nothing more anti social than people that try to use Filmon using site wifi it just freezes everything up for everyone else that just wants to read their emails etc----Take your flipping CD's with you
Saying that if you have a paid for sky you can get most channels with the exception of anything from ITV or BBC

None
But some areas of Spain (in the Valencia area) you can still receive BBC ITVs on an 80 / 90cm dish ...
Most other areas you need anything from a 125x135cm disg to a 1.8 or 2.5, or if you are in the CdS about a 5m dish!

Unless you go the intelsat 907 route... ;-)

Yes for computing . Not watching the telly.
Nothing worse than trying to work & the Itinerants start watching tv & dragging all the speed down to the point that it is nigh on unusable.
Weekends are worst here with the Spaniards & even more so come June when the kids pack up school !:cry:

If I were the supplier of satellite WiFi internet streams I'd block them at home, let alone on campsites.

Nah....it's you lot with your silly emails and banking stuff that stop's us watching tele

I don't really know how this sharing bandwidth works, I would have thought that if the speed drops then watching TV would also be impossible!

BTW I do not use the site WiFi when I am in Portugal as I now have a rolling contract with Vodafone PT that is unlimited and most of the time fast enough to watch TV........that's when there is anything worth watching.:)

Spain's loss is our gain, we get as good a signal in the Faroes as in the UK now, 95% plus signal strength and quality. (y)

Its not Spain's loss, its only the visitors who cannot get Astra 2 as well as before, but even this is not totally true, read post by SatandPCguy, he's the man in the know. Great for Faroes, hope you enjoy your gain. Never lost TV reception in Murcia, in fact its a tad better, but when mobile in other regions we resort to kindles and books, and Sky news.
