Ah ok this sounds more interesting - I was told it was really not a good idea. We are in our 60s though and feel the cold more...

I`m retired over 60 yrs and enjoy the motorhome, take away my Father on some trips he is 82 yrs and ski`s you adjust to the conditions but no discomfort.(y)

We did Les Menuires in February (just a week) and met a lovely guy who was retired and on his 4th winter there by himself. He arrived in December and was staying til April. I didn't go into the whys and wherefores too much but he had a season pass for the slopes and the leisure centre/spa and rented 47kg gas bottles locally while he was out there. He enjoyed meeting different people every week and was a great (free) guide for us. At 10 euro per night in the aire and 2 euros for 4 hours leccy it was a bargain.

Activecampers I hope I am wrong but it looks like valloire have withdrawn their very cheap early.bird. season pass. I found it earlier but it seems to have disappeared now.
Do hope I'm wrong as I was planning to winter there.
