How long does it take for your van to reach working temp?? in the case of my van 80 celcius

My van, a 2.8 Iveco takes 10 miles and no,its not the thermostat ,,I have just put a new one in---No improvement over the old one,,it still takes 10 miles

diesels dont warm up very quickly, some jags and some mondeos have an electric element in the coolant to help give a betterwarm up for the heater

Ah.. I've been driving oil burners for so long I actually forgot for a minute and wondered why you would ask such a thing lol sorry ..

As chatteris says a derv engine takes longer to warm up.. they are very bad for using exclusively round town as they never really get up to temp. We are seriously considering getting a petrol for ms tigger next time we replace her car as she never goes anywhere in it and it sounds like a bag of spanners.
