why not just add a lead and plug into the cigarette socket in the van, save a bit of weight.
Or contact "Battery Megastore" in Tewekesbury. They will have one.

That's a good idea Roger but I already have another compressor which I can plug in like that .... I really wanted to get this one back up and running so it can be used away from 12v power source.

You can buy a brand new Ring RAC610 compressor on eBay for less than £12 including postage. I doubt if you'd pay less than that for a replacement battery for your RAC650. A depressing example of built-in obsolescence if ever there was one.

But ! Paying the same for a battery alone might get him one with some lead in it.

Got to be one on ebay somewhere -- just looked, not so easy, they all look the wrong shape.

Plan B. A lithium battery as used in RC models. 3 stack needed, but you'd also need a lithium charger so not cheap. Smaller, lighter and may last longer.

many many years! since I was a kid
very similar to alarm backup batteries so with dimensions, there is likely to be something suitable to fit

Possibility.......4.5amp rather than 3amp but shouldnt be a problem and will give a longer run time

Need dimensions to search.

Many thanks to everyone for your help on this one .... I have checked out all your suggestions but am still unable to trace a suitable fully sealed battery of the correct size.
So far it looks like Magicsurfbus is right when he says "A depressing example of built-in obsolescence"

I did type the dimensions in originally but they disappeared somehow during my posting.

Anyway they are 70mm x 45mm x 100mm high (including the tabs)

thats odd as its a 6v battery size. the nearest 12v is 100mm x 70mm x 90mm

Thanks PJ, I think you are quite correct .. looks like another piece of junk now, the battery never lasted very long anyway.:swear2:
