very true Andy, descriptions and pics do help the novice to try and have a go themselves, as without the info they end up going to a garage and being fleeced !

I've made a support bracket here for the Gasit inline filter. This will make it easier to replace a filter element without disturbing adjacent couplings in future.

This is how it attaches and I have just checked measurements and can confirm that I have 10mm clearance between the tank bands and the underside of my floor.
It will be fitted in the morning (y) I'm going to use a 4mm thick sheet of Correx floor protection around the front to keep the dirt and stones off.

Just to confirm it is within the scope of one person.
Yes the tank is off centre deliberately to avoid a bracket on the van chassis but it is in the right direction as most of the van weight is on the left side.
Two extra rubbers fitted as I have loads over.
Following my lead this brings the price down to be comparable or even cheaper than a twin 11kg DIY kit.

Thank you.
Many comments about pictures. Once upon a time I used a real camera but for many months now I use my iphone from where I upload the chosen ones to my picture website at SmuMug, I then add pictures to my threads from there. I should really learn how to post them here straight from the phone  muppet :(

This is a fantastic guide and dispels a lot of the fear that surrounds LPG,
Well done,

Alan,

Nice looking tank and support structure-please ensure you have a thick blanket underneath-wouldn't like to see it get scratched in the fitting process as it will be harder to lift from underneath.
Even though i' a comparable price at least you have the satisfaction of doing it , making a great job of it and knowing it will still be there in 20 years time.

The ground will be prepared with two old heavy curtains and the tank will be slid underneath on a large piece of cardboard. The last thing I would do is scratch it
As I said in an earlier post it will be raised on four 350mm long 10mm screwed rods. Pictures tomorrow of course! says far more than talk.

EDIT it may well turn out that a rod on each opposite corner (2) will surfice as it should be well balanced.

Super job. Where did you find the model? I can't be alone in thinking it needs at the very least a scantily-clad lady to prove that it weighs so little. I assume you're standing on a soft surface so that when you collapse (just after the shutter clicks) your tank won't hurt itself? :):)

Looks good Andy

We also fitted a solenoid valve at the tank so that at the flick of a switch in the vehicle we can shut the gas down, which we do every time we leave the vehicle .

Anyone want my old tank with some liquid gas? free but collection only. A good shot blast and paint job will see it right.
