I don't know if its worth mentioning but whilst I do have a dash cam fitted to another vehicle I recently downloaded an app for my iphone called 'Safe Drives' It not only records in great detail but in the event of shunt it will save the last 30 seconds. If you're in a serious accident, recognized by the in built G meter, it will dial 999 and it will send both tweets to all of your followers and emails to whomever you chose AND being an iphone it knows where you are

A few questions. Once set up in car does it auto record every trip, and reset the memory card...have looked on net but only found Russian info

Basically want to know if it's a fit and forget safety device..might be asking a bit much from it.

My earlier "Jawscam" purchased from John has been hard wired into the van using the live feed from the cigarette lighter socket (easy enough to remove and get behind -Techno 100 has a thread on it) and simply sits there. It records whoever the engine is running and in a continuous loop. 32gig card in the camera so plenty of hours recording. Fit and forget. Hope that helps

Your wish is my command, Judge....... Easy Job -don't forget that Andy drives a left hooker. From there, I also removed the radio/satanv and led the feed up through there, coming out behind the clipboard thingy somewhere. Normally that is close to the screen but as mine is an A class I had to lead it across the top for the rest of the distance to the screen as didn't want to dig up the rather large expanse of dashboard top in front of the normal x250 dash

just wondered what does one think about this on amazon quite cheap but not so sure

Bought one from Amazon just to try out the idea of a camera, for the money can't fault it. but never could get the loop time to change, a once it dropped off the screen breaking the bracket,tried to mend it, Araldite, 2 pack super glue, yuhoo nothing sticks it so have ordered a better one . But the time I was using it was fine ,just don't drop it.

For reasons discussed in a n other thread, these units are supplied with the manufacturers warranty which is back to base in China
I personally cannot cover any issues as there is absolutely no extra lolly in the deal at my end.

Ok, the only real issue seems to have been with memory cards ( which are not supplied and have to be bought separately ) but I think it is important folk know the situation before spending their hard earned !

I can confirm that they are a great bit of kit, only have a 4gb in mine. It has proved one fact and shattered another

1. I am a brilliant driver and it is everyone else.
2. I can't sing, god I sound awful, good job I travel alone
