Hi, Probably going to bore the pants off you with questions as total newbie so here's the latest.

Just bought a avtex T.V that are designed for campervan use (So it says on the box ) I have a converted van and will be fitting it to the inside of one of the panels. Total newbie question, but what is the best way/options to get a good reception?

Would this be the best bet to compliment the brand ? Broken Link Removed

cheers

as its a direction aerial you may have mounting problems.......

Digital tv signals are very narrow and you need to point it directly towards the local transmitter mast or the picture will pixelate and lock.....if you get a picture at all.....so mounting in the correct direction is critical.

Dont forget, EVERY time you move to another area you MUST retune the tv to the local frequencies.

The advantage with a sat dish is once tuned, the frequencies are the same no matter where you are in the uk so no further tuning required....you only need point at the satellite.

One year. A whole one!
This sounds very promising. :thumb:

If my Mobisat aerial doesn't get me any channels on its next outing, then I'm getting the Avtex one.

Did not know this, have you suggestions for a Sat dish?

not a problem but inconvenient and time consuming finding the local transmitter to get the signal to tune to.

A tv signal finder will help.

Sat dish....i use a sky mini dish (around 40cm i think) mounted to an old camera tripod.....works for me and cost less than £20 (around £30 now) as i already had the tripod.

You can just see the dish at the front of the RV in the pic.

Hi have had a number of aerials over the years both for motorhome and caravan, all have been quite variable in quality. Best we have ever had is our current one.

NEW Avtex, high gain, omni-directional aerial with FM, AM, MW & LW, receives Digital and analogue signal

Not sure what they cost, but have used it in the lakes and down south, and in most places have had brilliant reception

Since 2008 after caravanning for 20 years
Easiest way to find out which way to point the aerial is to look at the other vans our houses around you.

Since 2009 with motorhomes several caravans then tents before that.
We have the same tv and arial . They work brilliantly. Stuck to either side of the motorhomes window . Bought this year, with intentions of using it in the PVC when we get it. True you do have to retune if you move to a different area. But it's just a case of pressing the red button. It's a lot easier than the old tv we had.
But we've also got a multi mo satellite dish. Just incase. :thumb:
