I am unashamedly glamping just South of Tarragona right on the beach.

A bit pricey but wow:thumb:

Hope this offends the ardent wild campers and anti expensive campsite police::bigsmile:

We were on Shell Island last summer when some Glampers turned up. Have never seen a tent like they had that did not belong to Billy Smart. It was huge, with every mod con, including a full size double bed. They arrived in a Mini bus towing a twin axle box trailer and the whole thing took all day to erect. Outside the main tent was a toilet tent, kitchen tent and shower tent complete with solar shower. I would imagine the whole set-up cost as much as a motorhome. Great entertainment value though for onlookers like me. Things have certainly moved on from my camping days with an old tarpaulin sheet.

You can come Glamping at Quinta Majay.

A yurt with a chandelier...

Brekky in bed...

Peace and quiet.

Wander among the olive trees nibbling on grapes picked right off the vine. Choose the pear you want from the tree.

Breathe in the air scented with the aroma of eucalyptus and fresh pine.

Price negotiable.

Not sure about the freeloading tosser bit.

Can't post pics from my phone/iPad without jumping through hoops which I am too pi$$ed to jump through::bigsmile:

I went, with 7 others, touring Europe in the 70's. We were all crushed like sardines in a dormobile and two tents and travelled extensively through all the European countries. In Italy we went glamping as it is called now and then it consisted of wooden huts on the beach. Together with the spiders we all thought we were very classy on the Italian Riviera, with four beds to each hut. The best time ever. I think it would be called shanty town now. :ROFLMAO:

I think I prefer my motorhome, but no doubt glamping must be luxury now:Smile:

Not a whole lot of point in extracting all that cash from your clients if you don't put it to good use, is it.

It's how capitalism works after all.

Enjoy.

Glamping locations, thats what interests me. Always on the lookout for nice places to stay...motorhome only though. Speaking of nice locations, the rains threatening to put a hole in the roof right now, it was sunny 30 seconds ago in Italy

I visit sites for a campsite guide and I have seen quite a few that offer glamping. My gut reaction is that it's an expensive way to camp in weird and often uncomfortable accommodation.

The most weir was a "honeymoon hut" in the tree. It had no toilet and the nearest was some way away through the trees, getting up and down involved climbing an rope ladder.

I suppose if you are on honeymoon you would not notice such things!!!!

Glad your having fun Chris as it's nite and sunny here in London. I think you need a new measuring tape though as my motorhome does fit on your drive and the chavs down the road are really nice. They even brought a bunch of friends round for the BBQ we had, don't worry they have promised to clean up next week.
