Just rang swift to find out if we can still order a shower tray for our 2006 sundance 630g which is a 2004 model. To be told we can only go through a dealer so we rang Salop Liesure who we bought it off told us it would be possibly June before they could get it in and the bad news was £1,200 +:whatthe::Eeek::Eeek::Eeek:

I know this is a bit of a trek, but Branfibre used to offer a motorhome shower tray repair service. They specialise in glass fibre and grp mouldings. I'm not sure if they are still in business as their website is no longer active but you could try a phone call.

Such a company could probably even make one for less than £1200, including creating a mould...

Or you could do what I did

See image and it cost less than 10p. :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

I am going to redo it though so it looks a bit neater without crease etc.

many many years! since I was a kid
you can plastic weld cracks using a soldering iron, a plastic rod and a dremel grinder. theres videos on youtube and its very easy to do

£1200 for a piece of plastic that maybe cost 50p to vacum form, its just ridiculous

More seriously. I have just bought a load of fibre glass mat and a resin mix. I will attempt a repair and will also reinforce all edges and the base while I am at it. If this fails I will buy a new tray.

I get mine from Magnums who as well as having a good range also have loads of stock from companies that have ceased trading. It may be worth contacting them to see if they have one. Get the measurements and give them a call you have nothing to lose.

This is the one I use and I cut it down to size.

Shower trays !

Wouldn't dream of putting the same crap in that was initial install.

I am in the throes of installing a domestic one, high density foam acrylic top, (Wickes £54) they only have low profile ones which means I would have a bit of juggling with meeting up with the previous fix lines.

Setting it on additional 3/4 exterior ply, just sorting the 3mm sheeting to clad the walls at the same time to get round the above problem of low profile and fix lines.

Can't envisage anything like £1200 !! more like £150.

Well thought we would update. Our shower tray is with the doctor today as Bills attempt of plastic welding did not go the way he planned.

Yes but no point if you don't improve the support that has caused it.

As a bodge I'd be thinking of repairing the cracks with solvent or the hot way, one or two hole saw holes, inject strong expanding foam, the bond the holes back on top of the foam.

Or maybe a layer of fibreglass cloth on top and hope it won't crack.

Both assumer you can't lift out the tray and do a prober job with fibreglass underneath.

You got it out, well you can't fail now, just make sure it's properly supported when you replace it.

This keeps cropping up in here. You've got wonder who designs these things.

A good layer of fibreglass CLOTH on the whole of back would be my first thought. If properly roughed up and bonded, better than new.
