Have found a small dealer here in Spain, about 1.5 hours away with a couple of interesting motorhomes for sale. One is another RMB and the other a Citroen H van. Both look in good order, but I do hope they are not .
We are off in the morning to have a look. Watch this space.

Well, Dave, it has to be an undiminished spirit of adventure

or more money than sense :winky::ROFLMAO:

Does anyone know if there is treatment out there for Compulsive Camper Purchase Syndrome.

I'll swap you a simi boarded Transit for the RMB :winky:::bigsmile:

Thanks for the offer Terry, but this is a one off RMB, factory built for a disabled customer. No prizes for guessing who has expressed interest in it :winky:.
The H van is a masterpiece of iconic campers. I have a feeling this is going to be an expensive day out tomorrow. Good ones are making serious money in the UK now, but if it comes I will be keeping it just for the hell of it :thumb:.

What a coincidence - I passed an H van being towed out of Bridgend this afternoon.

What are you going to do with one of those? A toad? Or start a delivery service?

Oh no Neil, the H van has always been a camper, with gorgeous mahogany interior.

Morning Dave :thumb: - keep us posted :winky:

Just got back Terry. First the RMB. Its an early one thats disable friendly. Am not sure what is going on with the rear, as there seems to have been a huge door there at some time thats now sealed up. The bathroom is huge and there is wheelchair excess all through it. It has a wide sliding door on the side for lift excess, but the lift has been removed and fitted to the owners new van. Its only done 130000 kms from new and mechanically it seems OK. The body work is as expected in good order with no damp. If a disabled person wanted to do some alterations then it could be a goer as the basics are all there. At 13000 Euros its neither cheap nor dear. But its not for me.

So, this is the H van. 1963 vintage with rebuilt engine and all mechanicals. He tells me it will drive anywhere and I can believe him. The interior was built by a boat building company in Switzerland and can only be described as stunning. All solid mahogany. No serious rust but it could do with a rub down and re paint. I like the battleship grey that its done in. The price does reflect the rarity of the thing and he tells me he has receipts for 15000 Euros on work done. It has a roof full of solar panels with more batteries than I have on my RMB. Even a solar water heater up on the roof. I really like the thing, but at 40000 Euros I cannot warrant that sort of money for a play thing. Interesting day out though all the same. I wish I had collected H vans when I was collecting Solex`s at a tenner a go, all those years ago.

One year. A whole one!
I like the H Van but it's not worth €40,000. The chap is trying it on.

I share your views on the RMB.

You should have bought that Airstream. :winky:::bigsmile:

If that's in any way related to Compulsive Motorcycle Purchase Syndrome then I'm afraid the only known remedies are either bankruptcy or death, and even then it's not a guaranteed cure.....

Do these have the little 602cc Twin Cylinder Boxer engine like the 2CV or are they completely different?
I can't imagine they would have much ooomph if they did..

No, they are fitted with a 1.6 or 1.9, 4 cylinder petrol engine. A few had a diesel fitted. The one I looked at had the 1.9.

I dont think he really wanted to sell it. His wife did, but not him :winky:. She would have swapped it for a packet of crisps :ROFLMAO:.

The musicians version is GAS. Gear Acquisition Syndrome.
I have it bad.
Which is why I have a studio at home where the walls are lined with guitars and the loft stuffed with amps.
I do my best to control my GAS by regularly selling a guitar or two. But I seem to buy them quicker than I sell them.

Lets face facts. Money in the bank is about the next best thing to useless. It does nothing, it makes nothing, only for the Wabbits that sit on it and pay themselves big bonuses. If you buy something that you can enjoy, whether it be a piece of art, jewellery, an old car or a camper. As long as you don't lose money on it, its a good investment, if you enjoy having it. When my time comes the family will have to have a whip round to bury me, but there should be good proceeds from the sale of assets afterwards ::bigsmile:. I dont think death duties are payable on vehicles, especially if they are just old crocks :winky:.
