Sauerland, North Rhein - Westphalia

Has anybody been to this part of Germany?

We are planning to visit in the early summer and are looking for advice for things to see and do or where to stay.

Any advise welcome

We lived there for most of the 1970's!

We lived near the Mohnesee ( of Dam Buster fame) Lovely area, not many campsites although there is one at Delecke on the southern shore.

We went back there last year and stayed most nights on the stellplatz at Delecke - almost a campsite - €12 a night with leccy and showers etc! Right on the edge of the water.

Also stayed in Lippstadt on the free stellplatz.

Lots of lovely places to see - Soest, Meschede, Brilon, Winterberg, The Edersee, The Sorpesee, The Hennesee, Iserlohn.

Now how can I say this politely and not get into trouble. :winky::winky:

But there is a rumour going around and maybe in the past has even been alleged that Sandra may be a year or two past her "child bearing" abilities

I was with 6 Brigade Forward Repair Team in Monchengladbach and then we moved to Soest when 6 Brigade moved over from Catterick.
Posted back to Blighty late 1974.

We were there at the same time then! We were on the pre-advance party so ended up in Army hirings in Korbecke as the Canadians were still on The Patch. Did you know Malcolm Ward? He lived in the flat below us! :winky:
