There are many of these 'unimogs' around, and Fun members Pat4Neil brought one to Malvern last year.... very interesting. My niece's husband, a mountain guide, uses one in Chile to take tourists up the local volcano! Rather heavy on fuel though for everyday motorhoming!

One year. A whole one!
If it's an off-road camper you want, then a Land Rover 101 is one of the finest vehicles you can get. Other than a genuine Unimog.

its very unusual but then again anything can be made to look unusual as im sure yuoll agree but what I cant understand is an off road motorhome.does that mean you can only drive it in afield.? steve

No Steve - it means you can drive it across the Sahara, or up into the Andes. It hasn't been 'made to look unusual', it's an expedition vehicle originally designed for the military. Apparently not all motorhomers want to camp in UK fields!

I know I have posted this link before, and many Funsters are aware of Unicat, but since we have several new members, you might find this website interesting - perhaps inspirational - certainly unaffordable except for the wealthy!

Ah...

But do these vans have a place to keep the hairdryer?

And where is the satellite dish for the telly?

JJ

If you look on the Unicat site under 'Vehicles > Special' there is a premium 8x8, model number MXXL 24 AH. You will note that this has 2 KVH Tracvision domes mounted over the cab, one for TV, the other for satellite communication. Inside there are two Imacs for AV entertainment and vehicle control.

There does not appear to be a special place to store a hairdryer, but I suspect there is a deployable landing beacon to guide in the helicopter with the hairdresser each day!

:roflmto:

That is fantastic - the attention to the interior detail (and luxury) is wonderful. And I love the end slide out!

I think a few regular manufacturers ought to have a look at the habitation area...

I would love one if it were solar powered! Wouldn't fancy the fuel bill though.

looks good.. :thumb:

do you have any internal photos, and if you don't mind saying.. how much was the body ?

If you look on my profile, there are some photos of the build and the inside. It cost us £20k but the guy who built it said if he did another it would be at least £30k.

The only negatives I can note are:
1. They forgot to add the price to the webpage
2. Offroad, the plates are cutlery are going to rattle like a bugger :ROFLMAO:

On the plus side - it's going to really upset the Caravan Club warden. Although it'll take out the pitch "silly sticks" (targets) with ease :thumb:
