I am about to embark on installing the first ever (to my knowledge) remote control for my 6002
This device has been designed and manufactured by an Italian who unfortunately got dismissed from the other side under "spamming rules" this was very unfortunate and short sighted as he had not even truly built one at that time but was very keen/eager to gauge interest by posting in all threads related to Truma 6002 units.
Quite some months have passed and the very first unit is being shipped to me personally from Italy and I should receive it soon to install on my Rapido 7090
It can be controlled by
Bluetooth/Android App
Infra red remote
SMS
It will text you if your strikeback alarm has been triggered or your water dump valve has dumped
You can set your heating in advance of collecting it from storage for those winter trips
You can control it from your bed if its too hot or cold
heat setting is in 0 to 60 increments instead of 0 to 9
etc
I will be installing it soon and unless I'm accused of spamming will give you my account of how to do this and my impressions.
6002 owners only, your thoughts please?. I don't expect this to be of any concern to anyone else

I do not pay for this if I am not wanting to keep it and return postage will be reimbursed.
I think it will however pry my purse open :roflmto: we'll see

This has been/is slow going as I've had work in the way and problems with the android app and my old sony ericsson X10i but it's now working on bluetooth by direct dial operation and on one shot timer. The 24hr programming function is not working. Mirko is finding me a work around to update my obsolete gingerbread OS

We have a 6002. This looks a great idea but the van is outside the house plugged in so we don't realy have a use for a remote.
Well written instructions s for it though would be great ::bigsmile:

The other consideration is you are in bed and wake up in the middle of the night too hot or too cold. Just turn it up or down without getting up.
Also the heat setting of 0 to 60 increments is more sensitive than 0 to 9

This could be a long way off yet but I've got an updated app now and the 24hr programming now functions but lots of testing yet

I too have the iPhone and yes it won't work
An apple app costs a fortune so is no feasible on a small scale.
I'm using a three year old Xperia x10i as pictured
One of the next things will be to obtain two payg sims so the MRC and android can communicate by SMS

I've something similar here, I use a pair of GiffGaff sims and I can toss commands/data back and forth at no cost for 3 months when a tenner top up restarts the free texts.

I'm going to the next level tomorrow in that I'll be connecting the I/O unit and a 12 volt supply to get the phone working for SMS operation.

The bluetooth operation is completely natural now and temperature control is much better with the 0 to 60 graduation rather than the manual controller's 0 to 9
The only thing not working is the one shot timer but Mirko has a fix and he will send me another unit after I complete testing (requires a firmware mod)

Hi Andy,

Will this software apply to the Trumatic C6002 which we have (1997 - 2002) ? Our thermostat control goes up in degrees from 5 to 30, as opposed to numbers from 0 to 9.
See page No 4 on The instruction booklet

Cheers,

Jock.

Well mixed results this weekend  Got the SMS working but it's not 100% reliable so now waiting for Mirko to assess.
It seems that after an initial sms command to start the Truma as requested and it sending a text back to confirm it then goes on to receive further texts sent without acting on them.
More when I have it.

I do still continue to use it very often via Bluetooth which is spot on without leaving my seat or bed

Finished testing as far as is possible to prove what works reliably. Mirko is now sending me a new MRC with firmware modifications to solve the SMS communication and one shot timer function. Even as it is just now being reliable on bluetooth only I would not swap back to the original controller.

Actually Michael :roflmto: joking apart, I only realised today that the phone volume was turned right down and have now discovered that when sitting waiting for the boiler to hit 60 degrees for that lovely shower that it alerts you  So I don't have to keep checking

I have now re routed the control cable from the boiler so that I can have the MRC unit in my redundant gas locker. I decided very quickly that the IR remote was not going to be a success when bluetooth is far superior and not reliant on line of sight.
I have been in touch with Mirko tonight to express my appreciation of this and how it has become indispensible to us. He is still constructing a new unit for me that will have full functionality of MMS and won't take any money until the project is entirely complete

Mirko although not a football supporter predicted a win for Italy. However he was so captivated that he fell asleep before the Balotelli goal :roflmto:

He has now bought a 3D printer so he can manufacture his own MRC casing. Should be the poodles plums :thumb:

I'm learning to use the things I abandoned a year ago due to firmware issues.
I've just programmed a section of 24 hrs from 1a.m. to keep us warm through the night and fire the water boiler a couple of times. Quite easy once grasped but I need a stylus doobree as the screen is so crowded.

After more than 10 days away I can now report with confidence that this finally works as originally intended.
I'm sat at home and just put the boiler and heating on by SMS and received a text back to confirm.
Thanks to Eddie I now have the know how to connect my stikeback so the unit will text me if triggered. (job for next week)
CA_01041511285328-M.jpg

CA_01041511403153-S.jpg

On the screen you can see it actually texted me yesterday morning (boiler block) this means I ran out of gas! just as we were getting ready to come home, how timely.
I have used my 50amp anderson connection point to obtain a permanent 12 volt supply to the I/O (input/ouput) unit with a 3 amp fuse inline.
This primarily supplies power to the Nokia mobile phone for obvious reasons.
CA_01041511594880-L.jpg

If I need to plug in my tyre compressor it won't affect the MRC as long as I plug it back in after.

I've now found permanent locations for the parts.
As I no longer have a Sterling inverter the remote switch became redundant so I have mounted the MRC there
CA_01091512534908-L.jpg

The cables conveniently come through to a void behind the cushions.
CA_01091512502443-L.jpg

The phone is fastened with Velcro and the I/O unit screwed down
CA_01091512522448-L.jpg

Now ready for interfacing with other items

It is very very cold but I've been playing at the van today.
MRC just needs one final connection to Strikeback T alarm and the mission is complete bar a test.
