Thanks PJ. We got that far, but nobody seems to know how to cure it or even if it is a fault! The code reader says "P1213 starter injector malfunction"
Presently waiting for Main dealer`s input tomorrow.

could be anything within that circuit.....temp sensor, injector itself, chaffed/loose wiring, a simple glitch.

Get the code cleared and see if it returns over time....if it doesnt then the chances are just a glitch.

Hi

I probably will not be able to help but what engine option do you have in the vehicle and what is the age?

"

Thanks for your help Mike,

2004 C max
2 litre zeTech

Diagnostic showed start injector malfunction. Techy cleared fault light but still will not run.
Plenty fuel
Engine turns freely on key

It started normally yesterday, ran normally for 100 yards then stopped as if it had run out of diesel.

if it started and ran for 100mtrs then stopped it isnt the cold start device.

100mtrs should be far enough for the cylinders to be warm enough for normal ignition
