Booked with a c&cc rally for july tour de france @ £10 night at OTLEY F.C. The da section booked it last year.They got a telephone call last week fron the OTLEY football club who now want £50 a night, so the DA have cancelled it.OTLEY F.C. are profiteers they did right cancelling it.

Good for them, if more people cancelled or refused to pay these sort of costs, then it wouldn't happen.

That's disgraceful of Otley FC. We were at the meet last year and all was sweetness with the steward - except they ran out of beer.

We weren't going to go this year because we didn't want the hassle of putting up with a "sporting" circus but I know a lot of people were looking forward to it and a lot of hard work had been done by the MCS Northern committee members. Rotten news for all of them.

That's fair enough but they had every chance to specify that price last June when the arrangements for the meet that weekend were agreed. Having agreed a lower price they should have been honourable enough to keep to it.

The individual booking contract would be with MCS Northern Area and conditions would allow for cancellation in these circumstances, especially as it is in no way their fault. Whether the MCS can sue Otley F.C. for breach of contract will depend on the terms of the contract for the letting of the field.

I hope Northern Counties, tell them where to 'Stick' it in the future, we were looking forward to it, but that's a Rip Off.
They are the ones which will lose in the long run, if they can afford to turn 40-50 Vans away..! Fine! He who pays the Piper!! calls the ! Tune!

From a post on their Facebook page it looks like they will be boycotting Otley FC in future. I shouldn't think it will encourage other C&CC groups either. I think it was due to be a lot more that 40-50 vans.

We were at MCS Northern meets in December and January and the people organising Otley were speaking about it with enthusiasm. I should think they are really gutted.

Just found out that Otley FC are promoting their own event now.

Instead of the £10 a night that the MCS were going to charge they want £135 for 3 nights or £185 for 5 nights with extra nights at £25.
