Bought a couple of 130 aH batteries late last year .. They were second hand but from a very trustworthy source.. Sadly they turned out to be none too well ( I aint moaning or anything it was just one of those things,,, Never really sussed it out until we had a couple of days away and off hook up )

Sooooo

I need a couple of 110aH good quality batteries ready and waiting for me when I get home in March.. Anyone got any suggestions who I can try ? ( Not really interested in fleabay as almost everything on there is either cheap and nasty pretending to be better than they are, or collection only )

They are handy for us, but we tend to not bother with them now. For some reason, they charge more in their shop than on their website - even though orders are picked from their shop.
When I queried why, I was told it was "cheaper for them to trade online". So, I went home and bought the item (TV) online - on Amazon :ROFLMAO:

Sadly- I see they've also hiked their camp site prices (again) this year

the batteries given the best write ups as proper leisure bats by CC are , Banner, Exide and Varta the rest all came out as normal cranking batteries relabeled:Doh:

The rest being what? usually tests rigged towards Banner :roflmto:

probably my poor use of words, but they were claimed by the tests to be of no different in construction to Normal Engine starter batteries. whereas the other 3 were, according to the CC article ... so it must be true!

Yes but they cleverly don't compare with named products just batteries sawn in half and lots of inference about what they're supposed to be.
If they were above board they'd pick a dozen big sellers to compare and not hide the names

i agree, they said when questioned their tests were more likely to influence the manufacturers of the " lesser" batteries by not naming them

more likely they'd loose the advertising revenue:RollEyes:

You've been a member long enough on here to know better ! You must have the latest traction batteries with built in wifi and a lunar charging capacitor!
Or you could just do what the rest of us do and take your chances with re- badged starter batteries.
I bought a couple of Numax 110 just over two years ago off eBay at a very cheap price.Im just so pissed off , they've never let me down and still hold charge as if new.Had I spent a fortune on the latest in make or type my life would have been so much more complete, honest.

I had a pair of Numax 110ah on my last MoHo and for the money they were excellent. I think they were about £65 each, delivered. They were from eBay.
I think as long as half decent batteries are kept charged they will last well - I don't think any battery, however big name branded, likes being freezing and low on charge.

Trikeman. :winky:

All mine are inboard sealed but I'd not buy Gel unless it was to be installed laid on it's side. I believe this is the case in some vehicles.

Not sure if you can do it with todays batteries, but my old MoHo had what looked like windscreen washer pipe plugged into the batteries' little vent which dropped out through a hole in the floor to vent to atmosphere. Better than puffing gas in the hab unit aye?

Yep they cut them open and had a shufty at what was really inside, some were real shockers.

Packaged for delusional higher income bracket, "Leisure" as per garden centres, somewhere for pension lump sums to be wasted.

"Marine" or boys toys for aspiring Aristotle Onassis shipping magnates.

Any old crap gets a "Leisure" sticker or a "Marine" sticker depending on what pallet they are loading. :winky:

when u say sealed is that sealed batteries or a sealed battery container..

thinking about it it must be sealed batteries as a sealed container with batteries that can gass off is probably a potential " time bomb"!

so i could fit the alphaline inboard without vents and without a problem?

PS: and change the charger over from Gel?

Good packaging, next day courier. Available in 110ah also. Low hight versions too. I prefer these because of the more convenient terminal options

Bought a pair of low priced units to start with... Absolutely awful.. Both tested after three months use with less than 55 useable amp hours

I appreciate Banner tests are biased but .... Bought a pair and fitted them to Darrells van last year and both tested at almost the 110aH capacity they are supposed to be

But I will also look at the Numex ones too..

Will have a measure up tomorrow ( they are under the cab seats ) and check what size I can get in..

This will be the forth damned set I have bought .. I do not expect them to last longer than say 3 years in good nick but at the moment I seem to be averaging life in months rather than years !!

They only sell good batteries , they have a reputation to protect
29300 feedbacks only about 18 negatives due to out of stock or other misunderstandings.

BTW they're so damn heavy you think the carry handle will come off

With shelf so storage on top for lightweight stuff

Inverter was also from same supplier.

I rewired the inverter as the supplied cable from Sterling is not big enough IMHO as the insulation suffered heat damage.
I replaced with 35mm welding cable, sod the warranty
