I have never done this but I understand that if you arrive after midnight for an early morning crossing they let you stay in the carpark.

It might be worth giving them a phonecall :thumb::thumb:

There is a Tesco at Cheriton, just off junction 12 of the M20, I've seen MHs parked there overnight. You can then get to the tunnel on the A20 - it's signed from the roundabout off the motorway. :thumb:

They certainly didn't let us stay when we arrived about 3.00am for a 6.00am departure. We were given the option of taking the next train or leaving the site.

Junction 11 for Folkestone racecourse Take A20 off the roundabout over rail flyover then off the next roundabout there is an unused spur, get there at the right time, looks ok. sometimes a bacon butty van there too. :thumb:

Used the Drum I. A couple of times, first time they gave us a discount for camping as we had a meal in the pub, next time we stopped no discount and I personally thought £20 was a bit expensive.

When travelling at night we make the crossing then spend the rest of the night in the a Cite a Europe aire on the Boulavard du Kent. There are no facilities but it's only about 10 minutes away from the tunnel and ideal for an early start directly onto the motorways in the morning. It's also very convenient for supermarket shopping.

Never paid anywhere near £20 for a nights stop!
If you don't mind being a little further away ( the other side of Dover, overlooking the port) there is a really nice road that leads up to the Dover Patrol Memorial, called Granville Rd, St Margarets at Cliffe. Nice view across the channel, really peaceful and other camper vans turn up throughout the evening. If your feeling energetic, you can walk down the cliffs to the beach where there is a nice pub ( The Coastguard)

Now for some useless facts......
Peter Ustinov, Miriam Margoyles, Noël Coward and Ian Fleming (007 bloke) used to have houses there. If its good enough for them.........
