Hello everyone,

May I shamelessly appeal to Funsters to recommend sites for Portugal on this thread please?

We will be in Portugal from late January until March and intend to stay on small sites, aires, cheap and cheerful of better still free:Smile: We tend to get fidgety after a couple of days so not needing long term stuff. Our plan is clockwise from Ayamonte to the Northwest

Apart from the aires, I can think of :

Pedro's place at http://motorhomefriends.com

Andleys place at http://www.andleycamping.com

If anyone else could list their recommendations on this thread I think it would help all of us that are interested in Portugal (and me!)

Many thanks

If it is any help, here is a map and brief info of our trip a few months ago. Through France to Portugal/Spain.
We really loved Portugal and will be back again this year.

Thanks Bridie, I like your map. I haven't worked out how to do that yet

There are literally hundreds and hundreds of lovely places where motorhomers can visit and stop free without problems all over this beautiful country.

It is a little more difficult (but still possible) in the "Touristy" Algarve but anywhere else it is a piece of cake.

The Municipal sites are extremely affordable should you need more facilities now and again (clothes washing etc.)

Come to Praia de Rocha where you can meet and chat to loads of motorhomers, both Funster and non Funster, who do what you want to do regularly.

You can view many of the places available in Portugal on this web site with pictures and details of charges if applicable.

Camping Car Portugal

But JJ has the best idea because word of mouth is definateley the best way to find out about the best places. Hope to see you there.
