Hi all,
We have decided to take the plunge, escape this wet weather  and try and find a bit of sunshine . We are booked on the Newhaven/Dieppe ferry on 6th Feb. Our intention is to drive down to the Algarve and spend a week or so there and my question is....... Can anybody recommend a good campsite there? We will be using Aires all the way down but would like to stay on a site with EHU for the week (or more as no return ferry booked yet)::bigsmile:

Thanks all :thumb:

Not like the central Algarve, quiet area, convenient for trips into Spain, offers for month long stays.

I would agree with the above and add that it is only a stone's throw from the local railway station that gives you easy access along the Algarve to Faro.

Standard rates are shown under caravans, rates are variable on pitch size and you can get two of the basic pitches(which are small but ok) for the price of the next category up. With 16amp leccy from €14.50 & 10% off for CCI.

Monthly rates are from €320 to €392

Thanks for that. It looks very nice but I can't find a tariff on the website. Do you have any idea what they charge?

Look under CAMPING drop down menu then CARAVANS. Gives tariff for 'campervans' as well. :thumb:

We're heading that way next week via France and Spain so may be there about the same time

chickenrun camp site

If you travel west along the Algarve and arrive around Portimao drop into the Chickenrun camp site.

Andy and Lesley will look after you and give great advice where to visit locally.

Hire their "ferrari" and have a drive around the local area.

We stayed there this year and had a great time. :thumb::thumb:

When you have a spare hour or two from the hectic social life arranged by Big Pedro you can pop down to the Marina at Praia de Rocha, look at the boats, wander along the beach calling in on the beach side restaurants that are still there after the storm.

If we meet up and you are really nice, I will even show you highlights from my collection of footy videos over a beer in a local bar... :thumb:
