Am just wondering if any savings the insurance bandits make will be passed on to Joe Public, or will they just leave it in there coffee tin.

nothing to hide, nothing to fear. :thumb:

Don't worry, the DVLA will charge THOUSANDS to peeps or companies wanting this info, as they do now with number plate info.

Joe stupid down the road wont get a look in. :thumb:

How safe will your data be?

Remember that the insurers were selling accident details to third parties, so if they have to pay the DVLA for the data there will be an incentive to recoup the cost. If you refuse to allow the insurer to access the data you will not be offered cover or a loaded offer of cover. Another erosion of personal privacy.

driving licence checks

I drove a company supplied car for many years, in the early days they did not appear to care if you had a licence or not.

But as time went on you had to show your line manager your licence every year and sign a declaration.

Last few years they just applied to the licencing authority when ever they thought it necessary.

And it was necessary as we had a engineer get drunk at a company do and boasted to the regional manager how he had been banned for drink driving but was still driving his company car around. :Eeek::Eeek:
