I have friends travelling from Australia to Italy for a holiday this summer, and wondered if anyone could recommend a payg data sim they could buy to get connected & online whilst there?

Not sure if Toggle is supported in Italy looking at their website,

but at 15p/mb for data it is very very expensive, even if it is supported in Italy...
