Starts to get busy`ish then...

To be safe and especially the more popular sites, I would tend to send an email and book if you know where you want to go... :thumb:

Never been turned away from a site yet, because they were full, but have on the odd occasion failed to find a pitch on an ACSI site at our preferred location because they were busy. Guess it all depends if you want to be committed to a booked place.

Spanish camp sites

We travelled around Spain last autumn for three months and never booked a single night and was never turned away.

I would book if you really had to be on a particular site but I would be surprised if you actually needed to.

Have a great trip, we loved the country and the Spanish.

We have nothing but good memories from our time there.

Hi, we went to Northern Spain last June and didn't book anywhere. We had a great time and found all the sites first class. One or two would have been difficult for vans over 7.5m. We used mainly ACSI sites. Have fun!

Hi Rusty

I’ve never booked any campsite in Spain around the date you wise to go, but get your self an ACSI book if you do not already have one, it will save you shed load.

I have a spreadsheet that I’ve maid up over the years with aire’s free stops and campsites that I use at least once or twice year, the sheet also includes satnav coordinates and distances between stops, all the stops I use are safe, I’ve never had any problem over the last 8 years.

If you would like a copy send me an email address via my email which is raymondliddington@hotmail .com

Regards
Ray

Out of summer season discount card.

When you pay/subscribe you get a card, map and two books full of campsites.

Last year 16E for most sites.

Almost use the books exclusively when we tour in Europe. :thumb::thumb:

We never ever book as we never know where we're going and have only ever been turned away in a RV because of size but never in our Hymer. We use ACSI and Alan Rogers never needed anything else.

Just go and enjoy the freedom, booking spoils the fun it means you have to be somewhere at a specific time and that's not for us too many places to see along the way. :thumb: :thumb:

Cheers.

Is the book worth buying for camp recommendations all year round ?

Just ask for last years books from someone on the forum. You get a new pair of books each year and I suspect they will not change much.

I have already passed on 2013 books or would be happy to send them to you. :thumb::thumb:

What you want is their DVD. Many more camp sites and a really easy to use program to run on a Windows laptop.

Dirt cheap too.

But we don't have a laptop when travelling, so maybe the books ?
